beautiful fish.
the only steelhead i caught was in a slough next to frank's tract, trolling for stripers about 10 years ago.

Nice work Jeff...lucky catch for sure.  A bass boater caught one on a spinnerbait last weekend.  Thats a big one you caught.

I didnt pay attention when i landed the fish but now that I look in the video I dont see an adipose fin. WIld or hatchery still a beautiful fish!

Nice score! Quick release too, I'm sure that fat momma will survive to give you a shot at future generations. One day in 05, October, I saw a few steelhead caught by salmon trollers, makes me think that they might travel in small schools?

Wild fish would likely be going solo, but if that was a hatchery release they might be schooled up.  But that fish didnt look like it was fresh out of the hatchery. 

Jeff did you happen to notice if the had any surgical sutures on the belly.  There are a few hundred fish from the Feather River that have acoustic tags in them.
