And no, not at the Race Street Fish Market either. In the heart of Santa Clara.
I had a small part to play in saving 'em. My ten-year-old daughter is pretty proud of that too.

There was an article about a week ago about a steelhead in this creek making it above the dam.  Those could very well have been southern steelhead, an endangered species.  Good job!!!!

They looked like Steelhead smolts from the bridge and I initially told Mondy that I thought that was what they were. Mondy and a fisheries biologists checked and reported they were a native Santa Clara Creek subspecies of Rainbow Trout. There are Steelhead in Santa Clara Creek though.

awesome! i used to watch the native steelies hang out in the creek that runs through downtown mill valley in marin when i was a kid. a lot of the little bay area creeks support surprisingly large populations of native steelhead, on the flip side a lot of them dont.

glad you and your daughter helped the little guys.
