Hey guys,
Bloodbath here! Took advantage of the break in the weather this past Saturday and went spearfishing with Lorenzo and Sean, Monastery North. Tide was going out the whole afternoon but, calm water conditions always supercede. The water was clear and about 20ft visibility. I followed a ling around for practice and Lorenzo and I saw a cabbie shaking the bait bag around like a dog. It was Sean's first time shooting his riffe speargun! Got fish! Sean got a perch and grassie, Lorenzo aka Cabezo got his cabezon and others. I nabbed a decent sized blue on the way in. Great day in the water and even better grub. Thanks for taking the pics Zo!

Thanks Joe & Lorenzo for a great intro to spearfishing! I had such a great time, didn't want to get out of the water. My gun seems to work just fine when I point it in the right direction. As you can see from the pictures the most important part of diving with these guys is hanging around until dinner time. They know how to enjoy their catch that's for sure.

The Riffe 75cm euro series gun that David Laird recommended to me works great. I had also bought a pole spear too but didn't try it out as the vis was so nice. Certainly using the polespear didn't handicap Lorenzo who managed to outdo us all and get his usual Cabezon.

Was another great first for me. Can't wait to get back in again.
