Mounting Rod Holders in front of Rod Pod Trident 15

Newbie to fishing with Kayak. Purchased new Ocean Kayak Trident 15 with Rod Pod and Sonar Shield.  I want to have at least one rod holder in front of me while trolling, and Mooch suggested mounting in the small area between rod pod and sonar shield using threaded mounts as they were smaller than ones requiring screws or blind rivets.  Its really a cramped area, but may be close enough to reach when fish strikes!

Has anyone mounted in this area, or does anyone have a suggestion of an alternate site?

Its a bit of a reach...but doable. I put them on the T13 and that has even less space. So you'll be fine.

Yep... they'll fit there, just be careful with the placement so that your rod holders clear the rod pod lid.
