Nothing beats a nice day on the water with a couple cold cans of beer.  I would call that a nice day on the water, fish or no fish.  Congrats.

Hey Ariel,

I was looking at the placement of your rod holders. Don't you also have some mounted behind you?

I'm rigging my new tarpon and am struggling with where to put the rod holders for trolling purposes. Until I saw this I had pretty much decided to put them behind me. They're ram tubes with extensions.

Ben

I have 2 mounted in front of me just out of reach of my forward paddle stroke and 2 mounted behind me.

The 2 Scotty's on the extensions up front I can place facing outwards. Perfect for trolling two rods and ver easy for me to grab.

I can alos place the 2 front one facing in when I'm trolling one rod.

It's also great when I have it facing in and the rod holder facing straight forward when I am sturgeon fishing. I don't place the rod in the holders, I twist the front rod latch on the Scotty so there is a slight opening, and balance my rod on top of the holder. When there is a bite/pull/tap the rod butt goes up and the rod tip down, Just like if it were in a real balancer.

Another good report!

With your work ethic out there you are bound to get lucky sooner or later.

Let me know when you are down to hit the rock wall; I need some salt on my yak...
