I saw two guys working the beach near the lifeguard shack...definitely saw one guy in yellow releasing fish (at least 3) while i was lurking up on the bluff wolfing my "lunch". THey were still there an hour or so later when i came back around, just further down...

was it one of "us"??

Were they kayakers?  What were they releasing?  Perch?  Bass?

What is the access like through the channel?  Or do you just beach launch?  I went fly fishing for perch from the shore there a couple of months ago and got one barred perch.

It might be fun to troll some grubs with trout gear just offshore for perch, but I would NOT want to get caught inside on a yak when that surf gets big.

they were not on yaks...but in the surf. Looked like the guy in yellow was releasing perch-- unless they were super dinky stripers ( i was too far away to tell).

bluekayak and others used to launch for salmon down at bolinas...

agree that it might be pretty fun to slow troll a grub along that surf line- or just inside bolinas lagoon on the incoming tide

I used to launch there a few times a year when salmon existed. It looks worse than it is. You'll find that most of the waves start to break but never do the full curl and crash, so you can just ride them in - after all, skiffs go out of there all the time.
May the fish be mighty and the seas be meek...

I always wondered about launching there. I wish could fish for salmon. I would love to try it there. Bluekayak you are way ahead of me on that one.
