Hello All
Got my computer finally connected and wanted to say that I can't wait for this years rockfish season. Last year was my first season fishing with anyone from the NCKA and boy I must say it tripled the fun factor. I am currently researching proper fishing kayaks as I noticed I was the only person fishing Bean Hollow with a small sit inside. I am the guy with the green necky kayak who lost the large halibut at the double secret reef. I look forward to seeing you all again and hope to try out some of the other cool secluded spots mentioned here. I went back to the bean in november but had to fish it by myself because no other members were there. Got kinda spooked after awhile when a combo wave hit the boat and felt like something solid bumped into it.
Only caught and released a couple of cabs anyway so I figure there must be a reason I am the only one out and called it an end to my best year yet of kayak fishing. Thanks for showing me the reefs and sharing your spot.

Thanks, Dave

Howdy Dave and welcome to the board!

I do remember that day and sorry that one got away. I heard it was a monster.

Bean... I could swear that I saw a fin that day we all were out there.

Bean rules. If the landlord is hanging out there that mean the fishing is awesome.

Welcome, Dave!  And I was there that day, too, and actually saw that fish and can attest to the size...  That was a day I'll never forget for several reasons.

See you out there for many more days like that...  SOON.

Every yak will work....which one works best for YOU is what you need to find out. If you can do what you do in a SIS...you can do it on any of the SOTs.

Hey Dave! Great to hear from you.
I was right there when that flatty busted off. I too can vouch that it was a nice one.
I've vowed to never be bashful with a gaff ever again.
It's one of those "I wish I'd just stuck it" moments I think about each time I fish for halis.
