I'm still trying to get this monkey off my back for sturgeon (I just keep telling my self it's only a matter of time, I'm due, I'm due, I'm due....)  :smt044

High tide is at a little after 11:00 am and then it is a long outgoing until sunset. I plan on arriving around 10:00-10:15 so I can launch and anchor up on the spot by 11:00.

Company is welcome, you can either meet me at the launch or you will be able to pick me out as the guy sitting on his yak mumbling to himself about those %$#%# sturgeon and why the hell I can't seem to catch a legal sized one!  :smt005

Cool, let me know if you have some intel different from mine. From what I have been reading it looks like Susuin Bay up through Monte have been producing well due to all the runoff. Most of the baits have been pileworm, ghost, grass, and eel.

We are going on Sunday. Pumping shrimp and clamming at Tomales bay on Saturday. Arriving at Beldons landing at 8 on Sunday for the incoming and most of the outgo. An extra hour of light on Sunday. Jay, how many feet of anchor line do you need at Montezuma? I have never fished there and was wondering if you anchor deeper than 20 ft.

You can anchor in anything from just a few feet all the way up to 50' or more. I carry 100' of anchor rope just so that I am prepared to anchor wherever I need to. I've only kayak fished Montezuma a few times, but I've been there in PBs lots of times. I would say the average anchoring depth for me has been around 20'.

I take 50' of rope to Monty. I can fish most any depth with that. I don't like to have to pull up any more than that. Whatever length you bring, you use.
I might show sometime between friday and sunday.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

One quick update: High tide is at 11:03 and going to a minus tide just after sunset, so we should have good current. I plan on getting bait in Vallejo and arriving at the launch by 10:00 am, on the water no later than 10:30. I'll be on Ch 69 if there are any late arrivals.

Good Luck Jay. I hope you guys get into them on Saturday. Looking forward to your report on Saturday night if possible so we can get a heads up for Sunday. Be safe on the water. Craig

Hey guys keep an eye out for floating debris!  A big rootball or limb climbing up your anchorline could make for some exciting moments.    Hell, even a little tule on my line gets me going.:smt002
Most of the spots are 10-30ft deep but there are some holes at close to 50ft.

 Goodluck and tight-lines....
