I am working with Mark Wiza from the fishsniffer about putting together a seminar for mackinaw fishing the Tahoe area. He recommended fallen leaf over Tahoe for a seminar. I am trying to get a head count as to who would be interested in such an event.

Mooch, he might even know a thing or two about those big browns you are always dreaming of.

Falling Leaf is a beautiful location.  There is a state or national park there, too.  When are you thinking, Oct?

I am not sure of a date yet. I am trying to judge the number of people interested to help determine the costs and go by Wiza's judgment as to when the bite will be on. I'll post more I figure it out after labor day weekend.

If there is enough interest, maybe set this up in conjunction with a Money Between Friends style tourny...  My Sep and Oct are pretty full with travel and work, but I'd love an excuse to go camping and fishing for the weekend this fall.

I just need to make sure the propane for the heater is full b/c it I bet it can get COLD at Tahoe in the fall...

So just how cold would it get at night in late Sep through mid Oct?  The 30's???

Better have a good air mattresses and 0 degree sleeping bags or find a motel close by.

It's the mountains, thus it could be raining or snowing. It did over the Labor Day weekend of 2000...

I still would have some interest in the seminar though. But only if he'll spend a lot of time talking about how to go about putting yourself in areas where the fish are.

Regards,
Scott

Scott, that's the kind of input I need. The weather is out of ours hands though. Mountains lakes are best when they are getting ready to freeze. I will look in to hotel rooms rates.

Should be a slow season for hotels, no more summer tourists and no snow tourists.
