well launched out of bullhead flat today at 8:30 under cloudy skies with a slight breeze, paddled out and anchored about 500yds off of rat rock and dropped anchor. ended up with two bullheads and two starry flounders. did have one good take while i was enjoying my sandwich and beer and not paying attention, dropped the sandwhich, spilt the beer and got a lite hook set, felt weight for about two seconds and then the hook pulled. oh well. wind started to pick up and temp dropped around 12:30 so pulled up and headed home. whoops the photos are in the wrong order

Keep at it bwodun. With this rain we are having right now, it should pick up pretty
soon. Thanks for the report. Good luck on your next trip.

Yes, a sandwich in one hand is one way to increase your chances of a bite, then a beer in the other hand will almost always prompt a strike, but there is one other more effective way to get a fish to bite while you're otherwise occupied, but we don't want to get potty mouthed on the board, do we????

Great perseverance, it'll pay off bigtime one of these days,

Thanks for the report and the starry pic, tasty snack....

3 cheers for FB21, you may keep a few peeps out of trouble,

When I first read this I figured they gave you the wrong info, but NO, crap it's right,

From the regs,

28.49. Dover Sole, English Sole, Petrale Sole, Arrowtooth Flounder, and Starry Flounder.
Dover sole, English sole, Petrale sole, arrowtooth flounder and starry flounder are federal
groundfish, as defined in Section 1.91, and thus are subject to special regulations as follows.
Regulations of this Section do not apply to other species of flounder or sole.
(a) Open areas, seasons, and depth constraints: See Section 27.20 through Section
27.50 for definitions, special closure areas, and exceptions. Take and possession is
authorized as follows:
(1) Northern Groundfish Management Area: Open May through December, in waters
shallower than 30 fathoms.
(2) North-Central Groundfish Management Area: Open June through November, in
waters shallower than 30 fathoms.

Dates may have changed for 09 but the species remain the same

I wonder how many bay area anglers know this,  also I believe that ocean regs only extend to the Carquinez bridge so what happpens up stream??
