I love that lake and it's only 15 minutes away.  I've bass fished it several times, but never caught anything.  I always enjoy the trip though, beautiful place!

Bummer that you didn't catch anything Sashimi.  How do you fish Natoma?  IM using lead core and staying at about 15 to 20 feet deep.  Since the lake bed depth is so variable, I am afraid to go any deeper without a fish finder.

It was nice to finally meet a NCKA member.  If you  (or anyone for that matter) is interested in doing some serious sierra trout fishing this spring, I would like to take a group to Hell Hole as soon as the lake is accessible.

I usually fish Natoma with Kastmasters.  The only fish I have caught in the lake was a rainbow in about 5 to 6 feet of water at the mouth of Willow Creek.

A trip up to Hell Hole sounds like fun.

Futhel,

What type of wet flies are we talking about? Streamers, nymph's or the infamous Hex hatch I've heard about.

Thanks!

AuburnFisherman i fish lake Natoma die hard all the time i have a perception search 15 BRIGHT YELLOW! I always have rods sticking up out of my boat love to hook up,come over if you ever see my, or we can make plans.

jrsyboy Lake Natoma doesn't have much of a real "hatch" for some reason the lake doesn't support great bug growth. using either a feathered leech or even a feathery minnow.  However i love to use a woolly bugger in black and green.  Fly fishing lake Natoma is Hard though, thata why you never really see many fly fisherman there. How ever for those interested cross over the rainbow bridge (to the old Folsom side) park and walk down on the side closest to the walking bridge and follow that trail to the right.  Keep going until you see current pick up and get funnled , go above that and start workin.  Good Luck
