SF Chronicle's fishing report

Sturgeon: It's tough to get a read on what's happening out there, mainly because there's no real pattern or consistency, except that there's no consistency at all... Capt. Don Franklin's SoleMan fished off the Oakland Airport on Sunday. One of his anglers hooked something big, possibly a sturgeon, and the fish tore off a hundred-and-a-half yards of line, Franklin said, before parting ways. That was it for the day. Nearby, toward the lower end of Bay Farm Island, the kayakers were out, doing their own sturgeon fishing. Seemed pleasant enough, the SoleMan skip said, but he didn't see anyone being towed around behind a fish.

Seems that Brian Hoffman at the SF Chronicle isn't doing his homework. No pattern or consistency for the sturgeon bite?! No kayakers being towed around by fish at Bay Farm?! LMAO! 

Apparently NCKA is doing a good job of keeping the sturgeon bite intel solely among kayakers.

Hoffmann and Stienstra rely on people to call in to give 'em the scoop. In this case, Hoffmann relies on a skipper who's trying to satisfy multiple customers; so he doesn't necessarily stay in one spot for very long. Which is good for the kayakers.
