I was thinking about Rancho Seco this weekend, but some big bass sure would be nice....

I have not been to Clear Lake, but its on my list for 2009, where would a first timer go up there?  I doubt I will have any secret agents, probably throwing a few cranks and plastics in the evening

Thanks

I was thinking about going to RS this weekend. Need to buy my 2009 pass.

I hear DFG planted some trout there this week. Not sure if that's true.

Braitos marina is kayak friendly and can offer alot of protection if the wind picks up. Its at the end of Buckingham at the narrows. Buckingham is off of Soda Bay road. Just let the folks there know you are launching and ask where they would like you to park.
Once you leave the marina you can hang a right and follow the shoreline until you can see Anderson Island. I like to fish all the way around Anderson but focus on the southwestern point by the boat launch.
If you hang a left you can work the shoreline and eventually get to Shag rock. Basscar will be there and maybe a few crappie hunters.
The evening bite may be the way to go with this moon.
good luck

I might be able to go this weekend, but I have motorcycle school until 4:00 pm...so I could theoretically be there at about 7:00pm...but I would need to be off the water by about 9:00, cause class starts at 7:00am on sunday....

Looks like I should take a rain check for this one...
