On the water @ 12 nice day with 3 hits, one stuck good with a solid fish for 10 seconds and pop goes my braid- I havnt changed it from last time and I think the time before that - some lessons take a few times to learn, so folks, and mostly, myself,  re-tie every time you/I fish. Damn.
Saw a fellow ncka by the rock, sorry I cant remember your name...

Man I so hate that.

The feeling of a snapping line, while under tension from a hard pulling fish, has got to be one of the worst feelings in the world...

i still smart from last year - i had the PERFECT pump down at paradise....waited, on pump 2 i set the hook, only to feel the line snap. The day before i'd caught a nice 4 foot leopard, and he got tail wrapped, but i didn't retie!

Bummer ...Ben, I lost one Saturday on the surface less than 20' from the kayak......kinda just let go of the hooks. You and I will get our turn with the good tides later in the month. Keep me posted on your fishing schedule....I'm close to being unemployed.....more like unemployable due to fish on the brain....

Ditto on that. On the bright side its better than sittin' all day with nothing to show but a sunburn. The leson hardest learned is the easiest to remember. OAP this Sunday. High 5;38am 6.8 low at noon at 1.0. Not a smoker but some movin' water. Sorry to hear your plight Ben. You'll do it next time. Craig

Bummers on a snapped line on the hookup.  I had that happen on a couple of ocean salmon a few years ago - it was a hard lesson but led to some nice catches later on.  Stick with it, Bro.   :smt001

Snapped line?!!!!  :smt013 Tell me about it! It happened to me too last summer at the Delta. It was my fault (felt like a rookie)... didn't check my knot. That tells me I don't always win.  :smt009

My many occasions of snapped lines have taught me to not only change lines frequently, but also to be patient with the fish by loosening the drag and tire the fish out before attempting to land it.

Still working on the keys lesson myself.
