 To me they look nice!  But I haven't fished the ocean in a very long time.  I don't see why they wouldn't work, after reading many posts, and seeing what was used etc..  unless they appear to be too small?
  I'm hoping to start fishing here soon though, Got the FJ & booties coming Via REI, rods & reels got, VHF, net, FF/GPS, gaff (if needed) got.  Some tackle, I don't have a ugly stick yet.  This is the year I get out though!

That stuff will work fine. Last year I caught ling, vermillion, cabezon and misc rockfish and they seem to hit everything (some lures may work better than others). We caught fish on grubs, scampis, frozen squid, squid teasers and swim baits. Make sure you have some small lures. When the big fish aren't biting you can always catch blues, blacks and gophers in the kelp.
