I'm down in California for the x-mas and spent yesterday in San Francisco.  We stopped at a fancy gift store called Gump's in Union Square and my wife noticed an artist's prints on display.  They are Japanese style wood prints by an American artist named Tom Killion and his subject is often the California landscapes.  When I got home I looked him up and found his gallery page.

Looking at his list of new paintings I came across this one.  I'm guessing many of you might recognize it.

Wow, this is really cool! Reminds me of the views from the red barn where Jim/InSeine used to live.

Also kind of reminds me of Eyvind Earle, http://www.gallery21.com/

Thanks for sharing!

I believe Tom resides and does his art in Santa Cruz.  Very cool stuff, and to think he carves multiple times into a surface (wood, linoleum, or other) in reverse and prints.

Finally someone recognizes the site.  You'd think the title 'Greenwood Cove, Mendocino Coast" would be a clue.  Anyway, I was hoping one of the 50 or so kayak anglers (other than Sean) who visit the Greenwood Community Center each August might figure it out.

Um, I knew it too, I scrolled down before posting and sure enough, sean had already called it.

I took a bunch of cool photos last elk tourney while out for a walk.  The wood carvings down the road were pretty cool also.

Its the view from the turnout after you pass the Catholic Cemetery before you get into Elk.  If you jumped off that cliff you would land in Cuffy's Cove.
