We arrived in fleet at the old China Camp digs a bit before the high tide mark today and fished until the sun was dissappearing behind the hills. I got a brand new camera and wouldn't you know it I left it right in the truck. Allen might be so kind as to provide us with some great shots if he reads this. This was my first sturgeon try from a kayak. My anchor system still needs some work as the scupper pro I think is way light at the bow and so the bow was going back and forth unless I sat up by the footwells. What a day on San Pablo Bay. I have fished there from a boat many times and this strech of water can get real ugly quick. The shallow water will build with wind in no time. Today it was just real flat with no wind to speak of and high dreamy clouds that were punctuated by nice warm sunshine. We had an assortment of bait today including Lamprey eel($$$$$$)grass shrimp and boy were they shrimpy, the mini me of shrimpdom, and some big frozen herring. The first fish was a leopard shark. Next leopard shark. Next sand shark. Next Patrick caught a shark. Next Bat ray. Thats it folks. We gave it all and had a great time. This is really what its about for me. The fish are a big plus dont get me wrong. To hang with good folks and experience all the gifts I am given every day makes this life worth livin'. Allen and Patrick are 2 top notch guys. If you haven't met them yet, try to fish with them in 09'. You will have  a blast. Craig :munky2:  Kayak monkeys rule!

So did they actually get their deck monkeys?   :smt044  They are indeed good guys, and you gotta love a father and son that fish together as hard as they do.  I miss it big time.

Not yet we are trying to figure out the best swimmers in case they get to annoying or sexual. They might have to walk the plank :smt044

Then you may want to avoid shopping for monkeys here...

Craig thanks for the report, a flat day at China Camp is a treat, and that area can supply some action that you don't get farther up in the system.

Tomorrow is my final GAF point building day for 08, shortly after the first I hope to get back out sturgeon hunting.
