This morning was a perfect condition for kayak fishing. Unfortunately, I couldn't
use my kayak. I drilled some more holes on the yak to place some pad eyes for
the milk crate. The goop is still curing. I decided to do some pier fishing at
Oyster Pt. No sturgeon for me and for the rest of the folks on the pier. Fished
from 6am to 12pm. Used live ghost shrimp and frozen herring.

Thanks for the report in spite of no love, and thanks for the pic of the crowded pier to remind me why I had to get off of them!

Thanks for the report.  Funny thing, I see Big Rich and Redfish in that pier pic you have.  Those guys are old school pier rats.  Redfish has squatters rights on berkeley pier too, that guy will show you how to take a kingfish and catch a monster with it.  No lie.  He's a sav.

Yo John, every time I talk to folks on a pier while Im on a yak, someone asks me if I know you! Your famous on the pier.
Jedmo- have you tried from the shore in Vallejo? I heard its the best bet for shore sturg. I used to fish the pier at Mare Isl, caught my first one there. It sure was fishy, I saw lots of dinos taken there- before the size limit too- I couldnt believe my eyes the first time I saw one of those monsters.

It's funny you mentioned that Ben. Really weird how I am surrounded by water and
here I am going else where. Honestly it is more about being with fellow fisherman
that anything. Don't get me wrong, who does not like to catch fish? Perhaps I
should post a hook up in my home town.

oh yeah!.....that is a very good reminder of the ol'ToughTimes I(&MANYothers) "USED" to crave&suffer through.

Thanks Jed!!  you should be fishing your home turf......but I know how that is all too well......it just feels crappier than the regular CRAPPY feeling of getting skunked, when so close to home.....but like Ben said, we are in PRIME WATERS up here and should be trying to establish some kind of method or pattern to this madness!

stand by for future back&frontyard hook ups!
