Fished the Delta on Thursday with my PB owning buddy Jerry in the COLD fog - upper 30's till mid morning. Water temps went from 49 to 50 by mid afternoon but the stripers were still eating. We picked up some dinks and schoolies here and there throughout the day mostly on chartruse & white tube flies. Finally found a semi hot stretch right at sundown just outside of Franks Tract and hit fish on each pass including a double hook-up with this 10 lb.fish being the best of the day. I haven't fished much this year but this was a great way to top it off with my best fish of the year!

They're still there! Tom

WTG on the striper Tom. Thanks for the report and picture. I am sure you
had a blast catching the fish on the fly rod.

If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Hey Sean - yes in deedy, I'm still out here! Just haven't fished much at all this year. It's been a combo of no time and really sad results when I did go out here in the Richardson Bay arm of S.F. Bay. It's obvious that the striper fishery is in big trouble - I didn't mention it in my post above, but that beautiful striper in the pic I posted had a bulge on the other side that stuck out about an inch from underneath the skin and my buddies' double hook-up fish had a nickel size black spot on it's belly. All the other fish we caught that day seemed healthy although smaller young ones. We all need to be doing all we can to protect the fishery for sure.

Anyhow, Happy Holidays everyone and Cheers for the New Year!

Tom
