Drift chutes, any body using them?

I ALWAYS have one on the yak, and occasionally use it.  like eugene says, best for a longer drift, though I've used on short drifts:  Deploy, drift, pull in, paddle, repeat..  I can leave it messy on the deck if I'm just paddling to repeat a drift.

I also try to tie off to some sort of bungie on the boat to take up the jarring that can occur from side chop.  I sometimes tie a bungie in line to the main line as a shock absorber (like the meat line trolling for albacore)
