Any particular dates better than the others as far as chances to hook up with a rooster?

Big rooster = my dream fish from the yak for some reason.

Thanks for any info!

Sorry for the delayed response but for some reason I am not recieving notification of responses on this.
I sent the details to my web guy but he is out of town so it may be a few day before it is up on the site. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the trips or to reserve a spot. All combined we will have seven trips to the East Cape in 2009. Rancho Leonero as well as Punta Colorada, Ideally these will be in groups of eight persons. Sean will be doing his trips to the Ranch as will Mark Pierpont, I will be guideing the trips to Punta Colorada.
As Sean said the cost will vary depending on the room but your cost includes

Room five nights
three meals a day
kayak rental
live bait (when available)
single panga support on day one
two pangas on day 2-4
two large bottles of water each day
guide fee
Pangero tip (this is a minimum tip, a bit more at the end of your trip is welcome)

Not included
Air
Transfers
bar tab
guide tip

If coming as a single we can try to put you with another angler in a room but this is not guaranteed, best if you try to make arrangements for this yourself. Prices are based on double occupancy but we can adjust for singles.
We sold out all of our trips last year, so if interested please reserve your spot ASAP.

Again, please feel free to contact me with any questions either by phone or email. I prefer phone because it is easier to answer your questions as they come up. (619)461-7172

May June July are the best times for Roosters the later dates the best. May has more tolerable weather if you don't like the heat. October we still get Roosters but not generally the bigger ones, this month has been great for Tuna. Dorado and this is the month we tend to get the most Billfish.

Just one more question, and I'm posting here in case someone else would like the same info - Is the cost the same for a person coming, but who will not be fishing?

If I go my GF would love to go, but more than likely would not be fishing.

Thanks again, Sean and Jim. I'm definitely working on making it in '09!

Thanks Jim.  I have also had a lot of questions about this...

Quote
Day 1 will be all paddle power and we will go over the basics of yak fishing for big game fish.  There will be a panga around for refreshments, bait, and fish schlepping.

To clarify, this is a FULL fishing day, not a class.  We will however spend some time learning what you need to know to maximize your chances of hooking and landing the fish of your dreams.

The trips are set up so that we charge by room then by fishing, so simply put we charge you and your girl for the room then you for the fishing. If this is going to be the case you would want to reserve a spot ASAP so that we can reserve extra rooms at the hotel.
As Sean said day one is with one support Panga for the group, it is still a full day of fishing. The following days are based on four persons per panga, just so we have greater range, less time paddleing more time fishing. This is not to say you won't be paddling, most will still put in a lot of miles, the panga is just a faster way to get to the fishing grounds.
