Fished the DWSC channel again today, bite was already on a 11 am when I launched. Caught 6 in the 12 - 18" range good fighters. Trolling Rat-L traps again worked well, Bite turned off again at the end of high tide somewhere around 1:30pm.

Nice report!

I was going to head out there yesterday too but some things came up. I don't know if you saw the report I posted for Alfredo but the deep divers like the Rebels or the Yo-Zuris with a plastic worm trailer seemed to be getting the majority of the larger fish.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed but hopefully I'm going to make it out next weekend. If your going out again let me know.

Took Ash there after work.  Rob (Diroblo) was getting out when we get there, so we chat a little bit & he showed me some striper pics (on site picture-report that was cool, thanks :smt004)!
The bites were slow but we managed to catch one keeper.  lost bunch of minnows too...
It was very nice to meeting you Rob & awesome to find out that I have a new neighbor now!!!  We'll do again! :smt006

I hit it again on SUnday, but earlier this time 7am - 10 and there was nothing doing. didn't even pick up fish on the FF. THe tide wasn't right either. There was also a rowing race being held that morning so there was a lot of commotion in the channel. SOmething to look into in the future. I don't know how often they practice or have races.

I won't likely be back next weekend before I head to New Melones but you never know.

I did see the post about the Yo-zuris with a worm, but I am not familiar, what kind of worm works best, color?

At least you got some out there...

I use either a Zoom trick worm (it is straight tailed and it floats) white, about 6 to 7 inches??

or Strike King worms which are really stretchy and they last longer.  Any stright floater will work, no curly tails.

Attach them to the rear hook.  There are two hooks up and one down, hook onto the down hook just barely through the nose.

If the water is stained to muddy, try a chartruse colored worm.
