Anyone know of a good place to put in to get into Cach Slough in the Delta? Its near the beginning of the Port of Sac deep water shipping channel, near Maine Prarie, CA. Thanks.

Try the link below, if you go, you need to approach the spot on Liberty Is road from the west, the spot I marked is the end of the public road.

Here's the note I put on the map:

posted as private, no parking, but the area shows allot of use, not sure if I'd leave my truck there unattended, but it looks like a great place to launch into some really good water.

After the map loads you may need to zoom out a little to see the launch spot,

If you find an access point farther north up the slough, please post,

Have fun

Thanks, looks like I might be taking a little tour this weekend...
I'll check out those areas, the area near the bridge crossing in the first link might also be a possibilty, may be less private in that area. I'll take my GPS and report back.

It looks like the Trust for Public Lands owns Liberty Island and is restoring it, don't seem like the type that will shoot at me if I find a good launching site! :smt067

Directions: Easy to get to! Paved the whole way.

Take Old Davis Road South (UCD Exit off Hwy 80) until you hit Tremont. Turn left head 2 miles, then turn right onto Buckley, follow Buckley a ways (12 mi. maybe, about 15 min) Then turn Left onto King Rd King will turn to the right and become :smt006 Liberty Island Road. Take LIR all the way til the end at bridge in photo park on west side of bridge, lauch area on east bank, but no parking allowed on this side or on the bridge.
