Hooked up with bennettdanville (Martin) this morning to cruise the Delta for some stripers.  I got two this morning on topwater.  The first one was little, but the second fish had some muscle.  I was walking my spook slowly along the edge of a grass bed, and then: THWACK!!  It pulled me around a bit and took some line out.  A minute or so later, it was in the yak (pic 1).  A solid 26 inch striper.

Other than a few other blowups, the topwater bite was off, so Martin and I trolled for about two miles.  He got the first fish trolling, a small shaker on the rattle trap.  Later he gets into a better sized fish (pic 2).  It looked to be about 20 inches or so.  We got a few more small schoolies on the troll.  Around 11 am, the bite turned sour.  A long troll for nada on the way home.  It was a fun day on the water with good company and nice weather.

Thanks for the fun hook-up Martin.  I hope we can do that again sometime soon.

Nice striper, Bryan! I plan on going out this long weekend for stripers but debating on where to go (Napa or Delta). Where about in the Delta was this? Whites? Disappointment?

Nice striper Bryan. I miss the straw hat. I guess you don't need them anymore due
to not enough sun to bother the neck and ears.

Just as long as the hat is the only Speedo gear involved!      Nice going on the fish guys, I'm jealous.  Gotta schlep it out at work here a couple more days.  How was the fog situation in the morning?
