Got to Shadow Cliffs around 8:30 am and on the water by 9 am.  Very slow and a slow bite.  Had a few takes at 9:30 am.  But, they were just playing with the bait.  Got my first trout at 10 am....small DFG trout.  Powerbait at 42 ft of water.  Got a big hit at 11 am and I was playing it like it was a big trout.  Ended up being a 8 lb Catfish.  Stay until 4:30 pm and got 2 more DFG stocker trout.  I was the only kayak guy and there were many tubes and a few boat guys.  Boat ramp should be open next week, maybe.

Got a phone call on the way home that we were going to go Crab and Rockcod out of HMB.  I got home and clean the fish and could not find my camera.  Sorry, no pics.

We were at HMB at 5:30 am and there was a light wind.  Nothing like the weather reports saying 15 to 25 mph.
Waves were big 8 to 10 fts.  But made it out to 200 ft and dropped 9 pots.  Reports said that it would calm in the afternoon.  So after dropping the pots we head towards the Farallon Islands.  1 hour and half later we were there.  Slow bite and there was no protect side of the island.  Wind and waves were all over.  We fish the South side of the South Island for 3 legal lings.  Biggest was 28".  3 cabbies and 2 Chinas.  Released 3 to 4 undersize lings and ran to pick up the pots.

First 2 pots had one to two crabs.  We were thinking it was going to be of nothing.  Next pot had 20 and maybe half were legal.  We got our limit for 4 guys.  We had 2 pots that someone had taken our crabs and left the sides of the traps open.  But, all in all a good day.

Saw the boat that had capsize outside HMB in the harbor and I did not know that 2 guys had died in it until I saw the paper.
