I seem to be suffering the malady of aging.

What is a good polarized sunglasses that also has a bi-focal lense.

I am to having a hard time tying the line and don't want to take along two sets of glasses.

Any ideas?

I use the OPTX 20/20 stick-on lenses on my regular sunglasses for the same reason you mention. You can get them from +1.5 to +3.00. (search ebay).

When you see glasses advertised to be "polarized"...
Be sure to hold them about 16-inches from your eyes and rotate the frames through 180 degrees.    You MUST see the image darken.

I was looking at polarized glasses the other day at Costco and did that...
there WAS NO DENSITY CHANGE as I rotated the lens.....which means that the labeling of them as being "polarized" was a lie.

You pay quite a lot for that feature.
It'd better be there.

That ONLY works if you are already wearing a pair of glasses that you know are polarized.
Chances are the glasses you looked at were polarized.
When looking through one pair of polarized lenses at another pair of polarized lenses and you rotate one pair 90 degrees you will get the darkening effect you describe.

Take your prescription to Walmart and see what they can do for you. They actually have decent polarized sun/sport glasses they can turn into bi-focals for you. I know this because I was in there 2 weekes ago asking about it. It seems we suffer from the same maladies. :smt011 Their prices are not bad so if you did lose them overboard you won't be breaking the bank to get a replacement pair.

I wear a pair of dark safety glasses with a 1.5X magnifying section in the lower part of the lens, that section is smaller then you'd find in a pair of perscription bi focals but it works great for the fine work while sitting in the yak.  They aren't polarized but they are also less than $10.  I don't wear perscription glasses yet so I don't have the knack of caring for glasses properly, so $10 is a good thing as I lose/break a few pair per year. There are many styles of safety glasses now mine are a fairly good looking wrap around style.

thanks for all the input.
You never know what you'll learn here.

I like the glasses I use now and don't wear presciption glasses but need reading specs from time to time.

I might look at those stick on units on my existing.

I  was issued these in Iraq as a pair of perscription safety glasses.  you order the glasses and then order the insert.  take the insert and have the perscription filled.  It gives you the advantage of having a wrap around protection, yet with a perscription.  Not sure if there is a polarized lens or not.  They come in a lot of different shades, polarized might be one.

Stick ons , that sounds interesting , I've got bifocals and don't care for them - keep trying to get used to them . I carry a pair of cheapie reading glasses in my tackle box , anything under 15 lb. test  is impossible for me to tie without them .
