So I decided to take my iPhone with me to the forebay. I have installed an app called Britekite that lets you post a photo and your location. Since there was decent cell reception out there I was able to post everything as I went to Twitter and Facebook. You can see the post on my Twitter account here - http://twitter.com/penbill

I was pretty scary pulling out my iPhone on the water. I need to find a waterproof case. Sadly I didn't catch any fish and by the time Mooch did it was too dark for the phone camera.

Give it a few years and we will be streaming live video while we fish if we want to.

Cool stuff Bill.  The iPhone isn't perfect but it is pretty cool and it definitely changes the way you do some things.

A couple of weeks ago when I went paddle boarding with Mooch I broke my own rule of not taking my phone out to the water with me, I had it in my backpack.  I ended up swimming a few times but luckily the phone was in a dry bag and it didn't get any water on it.

If you find something better than the dry bag let me know...I have a feeling I'll end up breaking my own rule more and more as time goes on

I haven't seen this specific one but the plastic on the ones I have seen and the one I bought for my VHF is too thick to be able to effectively use the controls.  Let me know how it works out for you though.

Very Cool......I'm loving my iphone.

But I'd like to leave Twitter out of it so I don't need yet anouther login.  Can you do the brightkite link direct into your post like this.....

Or is that something we have to wait for a copy and paste feature in iphone to be able to do?
