we picked up a full scoop of gorgeous sardines from bocci boy this morning,

and made a fast and easy run to franklin point on flat seas. today's crew was glenn fukumoto from san jose's fisherman's warehouse, along with neighbor jeff feng, and dad.

rockcod were just not interested in these HUGE sardines, but the ling cod were. we stuck eight in short order.

here's one.....

two .....

three ......

four .....

five ......

six ......

seven .......

and eight!!!!!!!!!!!

glenn cleaned the fish on the way back.

and jeff made dinner for us all!!!!!!!!!!

most of the fish came in between bean hollow and the lighthouse, in 30-50 feet of water.  go get 'em!!!!!!!

Great catch!   Those are some monster lings!   I am not sure what was more impressive - the fish or the dinner!  Great report.

yeah, ancient japanese fishing tradition.  pour once around, go "kampai" and then pour an extra shot for the fish gods.  works every time.  alan
