my buddy jr. and i showed up to no wind,no swell and no fog at 7am.  i set 3 crabpots in front of the cove and we fished north of the launch for about 4 hours. we each got lings in the 24-26inch range, lots of gophers, some chinas and one 18inch cab. i then hooked in to a fish that was clearly bigger than any fish i have ever hooked. it took me for a quick sleigh ride before breaking my 50lb braided line. i am sure that every boat within 5 miles heard me let off some serious profanity followed by extensive sobbing. i apologize to any children in the area who had to hear it. all three crabpots were empty so we hit the beach and changed into freedive attire. we paddled south of the launch and dove in fabulous visibility on a spot that could only dove in these conditions. we found some nice abs in 20ft of water
All in all a beautiful day at the fort.

Thanks for the report and pictures kayakjack. I am hoping for the same weather
for Saturday, but it looks like it may not happen. I need one more trip there at
Fort Ross before it is all over for this year.

Hey Kayakjack,
Bloodbath here! I saw your truck in the lot. I was there too with two other dive buddies. We paddled some crab pots out on our float tubes and dove for abs. The water was super calm. Good job out there!
