The fort 11-22-08

I have overtime this weekend and Family here for Thankgiving weekend so the weekend of the 22nd is going to be my last chance for the season. Assuming the weather will cooperate, is anyone interested in ab diving and or fishing 22nd/23rd? We had lingcod tacos last night and it convinced me I need to do one more trip. My last couple of trips have been without the family so I will probably camp with the family this trip.

Last weekend was my first trip to the fort and I got a keeper ling, a keeper cab and my limit of abs so it should be good if weather permits.

I'm gonna try and get out every weekend I can before the closure, so yeah, I'll be in if I can.

Yeah, Fort Ross. I'm ready to give Norm a run for his money. I did 5 or 6 Sonoma/Mendo trips this year and haven't seen anyone outfish Norm yet. I tried a new lure/method combo that produced 3 lings in less than 30 minutes last week at the fort. Unfortunately I switched to it right before my carpool buddy had to head home. I'm anxious to get back out there and try it again. Hopefully it wasn't just luck. I'm going to start early Saturday morning the 22nd and be off the water by noon because of a prior commitment.   

I may be interested in grabbing some abs if we get our fish early. Anybody bringing dive gear?

My usual method is a case or 2 of 30 weight oil....works great.

BTW, except for the park ranger, I don't think anyone's a local at Fort Ross.

I think I'm in.  But I'm getting tired of Norm catching all the fish.  i think he should be handicapped somehow......holes in his boat or something.

I'm going to try to make it one of those days.

Looks like Saturday the 22 will be a no go for me, but I can go Sunday the 23rd.  Let me know if you still plan to fish that day.  Weather permitting of course....

I can only fish Sat but I'm sure plenty of others will want to go Sunday. We are coming down to the wire on the end of season.

SO what is the new lure/method? I need all the help I can get! I am planning on heading up there this weekend but most likely will launch out of Ocean Cove unless things change. Might be going up next weekend also so the Fort would most likely be the spot.
