Met up with Jonesz and Guitarzan for a shot at some flat conditions. First day was nice, and the second was even flatter. I did okay, not as good as I would have liked. Couldn't beat the conditions though, that was awesome in itself! Ben left after the first day and I fished with Glynn on thursday. I'm not fishing with him anymore, he catches too many fish! He even went and got us some wild boletes to savor around the campfire.
It's always great to paddle new waters with new partners. We even saw breaching humpbacks, (too far for a good pic).
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

Thanks for the  report and pictures mako1. Fort Ross is actually my favorite place to
ocean fish even with the 5-7 minutes of walk to the parking lot.

Look who's talkin!!! I've watched you bang em enough times!  :smt005 That was the best two days I've had on the ocean this year. The conditions were awsome. Glad I listened to you and delayed a day. The first day was great, but the second day was unbelievable. Seems like I get one or two of those days a year on the ocean. It's easy to forget your on the ocean those days.  It's all about hitting the windows.  Man I was beat when I got home. Fighting a cold all week really beats you down, then off to work 5:30 this morning.... Cleaned all the fish at the firehouse and then fed the boyz. Once again, great fishing with you Juan and Ben.

It was a bummer not to get our feet wet over the weekend I had to get back for at least a day...  9 rockfish a cab and a decent ling.
I finaly got some verms too, I had one on and coming up when the line started ripping sideways, I was thinking Thresher, but I saw color- SEAL! He came up 20 feet away with my verm in its mouth and I got way lucky, he let it go for a second and 2 seconds after that it was under my legs like it was my baby rhino surrounded by a pack of wild dogs. MY fish!
Jonesy got us some shrooms and after he spent a few hours preparing, collecting and cooking them, they were delicious. You should have seen the look on his face when I said they were as good as Burger King fries... LOL
Its not over yet, I want more!
How about the gill on this ling, I didnt notice it and this one was released...
