Well...rented a yak from MBK this morning and hit it as hard as I knew how in the limited area that they allow you to take their boats and caught a big fat skunk.  Didn't really see much bait, a few birds working out past the "boundary area".  Saw a bunch of cool wildlife though (Sea Lions, Seals, Sea Otters, which was cool for a Chesapeake Bay rat like me!).  Also ran into Fish Master1 who was out crabbin'.  He was kind enough to share some bait and a few tips.   Thanks FM1!  And thank you to everyone else who posted up and gave me advice and made an east coast yakker feel out home on the west side.  Hopefully I'll be back out here sooner than later and I'll get a chance to meet up with some more of you.  And if you ever out east drop me a line and we'll go wet some! [email protected] or post up on www.tkaa.org and someone will be willin' to hit the water!

Tight Lines,

-Ryan

Hey Gramps,

I'm sorry you got skunked. And I'm also sorry that I had to flake out on taking you out. My little girl had her 6 month immunizations which she doesn't do very well with. I feel bad to have flaked but I couldn't leave my wife at home to deal with that alone.

Anyhow, I'm glad you got to witness some of the wonderful wildlife that we have around here. I hope you make it back sometime so we can fish together. Earlier in the the season would probably have been better fishing. Once the weather starts to take a  turn for the worse the fishing tends to follow that trend. Safe travels....
