Went from plan A drive up the coast to HMB or further north to plan B due to weather conditions. Plan B was to go out of SC harbor and drop pots in between crappy conditions Saturday. I managed to get six pots set where I wanted them. Then came back in and waited to this morn to go pull. The weather was much better, no wind but a large lazy swell. No problem getting out. Felt lucky as I saw a double rainbow, whales, dolpins, seals, birds. Metered tons of bait from 60' to 100' of water. Reached the first pot, up, up, up only one small crab :smt011. Next pot, nothing. Next pot, nothing. Next pot, nothing. You get the idea. Last pot one undersized. Conditions were still good so I did a three mile paddle to the north and started re baiting and dropping pots every 1/2 mile. They have to be some where. On the way back I had to wait out sets at the mouth of the harbor that were blowing through like freight trains. Got a nice window and got the x factor tank up to speed, good cardio. I think I did 10 miles today. First skunk ever for crabs on the yak. Go figure first of the season.  :smt005

Good job on the effort.  Inspiration to us all, as was Abking's midnight mission!!!  Killer.

Maybe it was the swell there was heavy swell down here, the bottom had to be pretty stirred up.
