One of my goals for 08 was to paddle cache creek. I missed the window of op and it will have to go higher up on the list for 09. The only reason I mention this at all is that I had the chance to get a few shots of the source and thought it might inspire someone to see how the fishing is and others to start shakin it cause we need some rain.
the submerged trees look very fishable

:jawdrop :jawdrop :jawdrop :jawdrop WOW, I have never seen it that low. Bet the fishing would be great, or the fishing would be bad due to the stress the fish are under. Thanks for the report. Might head over there on my next days off, and get some pics.

Been there a gazillion times and never seen it that low ! Imagine it did no good for the trout / kokanee . A plus for the cats , bass and panfish . Hope there is enough oxygen as too not cause problems ?

Mannn! That's bad!!! Never seen it any where near that level.  :smt011 In the eighties that was my favorite bass lake. It peaked out a long time ago. That's pretty much a puddle...

Always thought that is was an ugly lake but that's insane.

MAN.......!!!!!.......THAT'S    l  o   o    o    w...........

I was up there last Feb hunting pigs......at that time they had the gate closed and were repairing/extending the launch ramp.   There was three-times as much water, and yet it was LOW then.

Just lately I was looking through the Western Outdoor News looking for a fishing report on Indian Valley Rez and they weren't/are-not even listing it.    Your photo makes clear, why.

The brush in that area is so intense that to hunt, you can only "set up" on a field of fire and just wait for something to come by.    I saw no pigs but was able to call up two coyotes.

I tried to climb the road to the top and go out the north route.....the road tops out at something like 7,000 feet....and was stopped by snow.

From a public lands management point-of-view, what that (oh, ...6-20,000,000 acre) area needs is a management fire to burn out the tangle of buckbrush/manzanita/god-knows-what-all.    Little green stuff would get started and the cycle begin again.   Right now, the brush is choking out the brush.

In the hot-of-the-summer that area is too hot to be in.
In the cool-to-cold of the winter it's very approachable.

As it appears in the photo, a person could never get-a-boat-to-water.
But IF ONE COULD.....(and this is a query)......d'usupoze that "concentration of the entire lake into that tiny puddle" would produce jaw-dropping fishing?
