Tried Paradise for Halibut based on glowing CC Times fishing report. Lots of boats, only heard of one fish caught. Used live shiners, but only hooked a small seal (doh!). Beautiful day. Fished 9:30 to 13:00. This was my fourth strike outing on bay halibut, including a party boat where everyone else got one but me. Guess I'll go back to trout. My new avatar reflects my current outlook on kayak fishing. Some guy on the pier got one, but I didn't see any others caught on the dozen PBs that were fishing in the area.

Pic 1: beautiful day, Paradise pier
Pic 2: my only hookup of the day, staring me down, wondering how long I would take before I cut the line.

Gota love being out on water like that for the day. Hope you get that skunk off your Yak soon.  Good luck, Kimo

Beautiful day tho wasn't it, I spent the day up the river (Sherman Is) with similar results, maybe the butts have finally followed the season back out the gate. Seems the stripers around Rio Vista were not cooperating either (for me at least).

Even the seal couldn't find anything to eat besides your bait.

I like the avatar.  I thought of doing that to my avatar in the past.  I like the pics though.

I was actually going there tomorrow Monday to try my luck. I guess I may have to
go with plan B. and see what happen. Thanks for the report.

good try...and thanks for confirming that those CCCT fish reports are FULL OF SHIT!  written by bait sellers(K.Fraizer) and partyboat capts.

quote from the report "a live shinner at Paradise is a SURE THING!" and I got alot of them for sale!
I've discovered that Paradise is/will be crowded on the weekends.
~PB's reading the same thing you did and have NO share the water knowledge.
~pleasure boaters and sailboats anchor and jump in the water on hot days.

nice weather though! :smt002
