Any one up for hitting heenan lake next weekend? If you don't know about heenan, I'll just say that it is only open to fishing a couple weekends every year. Single barbless hooks only....etc

And this was supposed to be my ONE weekend to sit on my ass and do nothing. Heenan sounds sooo tempting. I know that the fishing is best before 9:30am. Heading up Friday night and sleeping in the back of the truck is the best way to go.
Let me mull it over at work, have to talk the GF into it too, but she has been on a kayak right next to me the last 5 weekends, including the Elk tourney, so it is not out of the realm of possibilities.

It opens labor day weekend, not this weekend, just making sure you knew the right dates.

WHEW!! Thanks for the heads up!
Labor day weekend I am taking my son to my secret fishing place. It will be my last time there as the hike is a total BEEOTCH!! It is something I am passing on to him. The years are taking their toll on me.  In 25 years I have never seen a person there. I have always bet anyone I ever took $100 that I land a fish 1st cast and have never lost. I never made them pay tho either.
Let me know how it goes. Maybe I will be there the following weekend.

I'll try and have a mug shot to show what a 20"   cutthroat looks like, at least I hope. I'll post a report after the trip.

Only 20"?? I know of 5-7 pounders taken out of there on a regular basis.
Bring along a purple wooly bugger. Doesn't matter if you fly fish or spin fish, these really work in this lake.
Good luck
