Took 50 smelt for a paddle from Emerryville's launch under the Bay bridge and down the rock wall. Mannaged 2 Short flatties. Spent much time worrying that the wind would screw up my paddle back to Evill, and consequently spent to much time in less productive areas. ARW would have been a better launch that day. Bean was nice, special thanks to FisHunter, and some guy on the beach for getting to my yak, far before my fat ass ever could, not to mention even noticing that I left it on a 45 degree, sand, slope, 20 feet from a large, rock outcropping, breakers, and the rest of the Pacific ocean. Horrible parking job with the yac.  Hooked a nice, big, hard fighting fish. Farmed it after about 10 -15 min.  I'm not sure, but I think some of what may be responsible for me needing to purchase some more Farmers Ins., is the fact that I did not remove the clear 1 in, protective tubing, covering the barb of the sweet, 7 in., 2.5 Oz., one piece, soft plastic, lure I was try'n tah fish on. Dinner with the crew at the camp sight was fun. 3 million Pumpkin People running over seemingly everyouther dear, raccoon, opossum, dear, raccoon, dear, seemed more than a little creepy. Mannaged a Cappie, a Green, and a my first ling from a yac as my 2 day weekend fish total. Back yesterday to manage a 25.5 in. Ling, and another good sized cabbie. In addition to saving my yac, special thanks to Duane and Adem for continually doling out jigs and tails so I could fish, Eric B. for providing the fish for last Sat's. dinner, and the rest of the men who made some calm, October, fishing at the Bean so much fun.

Now I understand what Adam was talking about!

Bad luck Dave. Bad luck. Easily done. I'm telling you mate, it was only a batray. Had to be. Right?

At least you got a ton of other fish tho'!

Good post Dave!
There is some very good "lessons to learn" stuff right there.
Well, no one got hurt, and you got some good tales from the safari so it's all part of the experience.
It was fun fishing with you Sunday.
