Passed up an epic Big Sur trip to fish local with my son and get him to a function on time.  On the water with first light, paddled out to the point and commenced fishing in 100-120 FOW.  Not much happening, moved in close to the kelp.  Not much happening so moved into the kelp.  Small blues barely able to get their mouths over the hook.
I could have been in Big Sur :smt010

went farther out and skirted the lines of the Pinnacles MLPA.  Just inside the boundaries was a kelp bed I would have loved to try. :smt012

found some structure and scratched up some keeper blues for a taco feast sunday.  Two other yak anglers stayed closer to the point had mixed bags of medium rockies.  Two others who went way around the point had a ling.

Wind came up, we came in and got to see a Maserati parked in the lot.  On the ride home we kept singing "my Maserati goes 185, I lost my license, now I dont drive."  Suprised a 13 year old knows the tune.  That was a great ride back, and missing Big Sur wasnt quite so painful!

I am more of an Eagles only fan. Any handstands to report?  Or possibly a back flip by Nathan on the yak.

Watch out, that kelp bed is owned by a very nasty and big sea lion!    Who needs Big Sur when you can sing with your son?
