we fished the channel off coyote point in 30 ft today.  we used herring and squid but the sharks only wanted squid.  i also used a bag of chum (old shad) which i put in a plastic mesh potatoe bag, it was eaten through with a very clean cut,  jim and his son sean caught about 30 sharks and a couple of rays.  almost all were 7 gills and one was over 5 ft, another about 4 ft, all released.
sean hooked up, 5 ft 7 gill, and chum bag comparison after one bag was eaten

Great report and pics!

I was just talking this weekend about fishing that area.  I live not more than 10 minutes away, but for some reason, have never fished or kayaked there before, always instead fishing somewhere farther away.  I suppose one fishes where one has confidence, and having never tried, never had confidence in my home waters.   Maybe these pics may just give me that boost to give it a try.

Has anyone else kayaked and fished near the San Mateo bridge?
