These are Freedom 7 models offered at a promotional price through Kayakfishing.com from the sharky Sonoma California coast.  Proven to chase off tiger sharks in Hawaii and white sharks everywhere.  If used as intended (always on), you won't ever see a shark by your kayak. Sharks that investigate will leave, they hate it!  You'll need to turn it off to land or release a shark, skate or ray.  Shark Shield does not impact fish!  I've been using mine for several months now and can't overstate the peace of mind I now have bloodying up the water offshore, hanging my feet and taking a dunk in open water.

More info at www.sharkshield.com

These are brand new units manufactured the past few weeks in Australia, tested, then shipped UPS Global this week. These units have the most recent components, a major development upgrade to the product and are the first to hit the U.S. Lots of info at www.sharkshield.com
A heck of a deal at $500, retail price is now $670 + tax and shipping.  Full factory warranty included.  These are not blems or seconds, brand new product at a promotional price.

Shark Shield is a unique shark deterrent system utilising a technologically advanced three dimensional electronic wave form. Shark Shield technology is available for recreational users and water sports professionals to help all people enjoy the water with a new dimension – peace of mind; for themselves, their families and employees.

Shark Shield was invented by the South African Government through the Natal Shark Board, home to some of the sharkiest waters in the world. It is used by the Australian Elite Military, the South African Navy the US Coast Guard and is also approved by NATO.

Shark Shield's can be used when participating in any ocean activities including surfing, bodyboarding, longboarding, snorkelling, scuba diving, free diving, spear fishing, commercial diving, kayaking, ocean swimming and boating or fishing.

The $500 promotional units are long gone.  A few Shark Shields can be found on Ebay for $589.  I took 2 units out of their boxes and put initial charges on them to gauge the charging process. Since they are not "NIB" anymore, I'll sell these two at the wholesale price of $442 plus $15 insured shipping.  Full factory warranty and a great deal.  Just let me know and I'll forward a "Buy it Now" from Ebay.  I can't imagine they'll last long and will post when they sell.  Thanks!

I see another member here is using the Freedom 7 on a kayak, so my only question is how long does a charge last in the real world?  The "Up to" 7hrs listed on the site isn't very comforting to those of us who may stay out a bit longer.

spike,
i dont know if you followed my story on  the GWS thread about my GWS attack and my deployment of a surf 7. Its reopend a part of my life i thought id never get back. those are good prices!!in my expierence you are right about it not effecting fish. Baitfish breeze right on thro under the yak, and ive hooked many rockies well within its sphere of influence.
Eric ive used mine for well over 6hrs without gettin the audible low power alarm.

Eric, I've gone well over 6.5 hours on a new battery.  I haven't had any 7 hour sessions since I started using it.  I'm putting a few units on The Black Pearl starting with the October 10 trip out of Channel Islands Harbor.  We'll run them dry on that trip and report back.

Sharky, when I get a chance to read forums, take flyfishing lessons and go on a longrange trip, I'll be retired.  I missed it.  Please send me the link, I'm dying to read it!

I took a call today on the last Promo unit for $442.  There are a few on Ebay for $589 and NorCalers can contact me for a better price as they come up.  If you are considering a Shark Shield and want to save some $, this is the time.  The dealer network is just getting established.  Once they start shipping, that will preclude me, or anyone else, from offering them for sale or online for more than a set percentage, a very small %.  These under $600 units are the best deals on a Shark Shield that'll ever be.
Thanks All.
