I've been crossing that spot, going to Ft.Ross, SaltPt., Elk, Mendo, L.Sonoma...I need to stop there and HOOK some SMALLIES!

   Great report! I've been working for Rivers Edge in Healdsburg since May and can't believe the number of big smallies I've seen caught this spring. Lots of 4s & 5s huge for river fish. I live in Healdsburg and fish the river allot and the smallies haven't been this good since the middle 80's. We put people on the river at Rio Lindo and Alexander Valley and both those spots have fished great. UL may be to lite go with light tackle and 6-8# and drop shot a 4" straight tail worm in green pumpkin or try top water with a Rapala floating minnow #7. The bigger fish are hanging in the saggiest log piles and some times you can pull em out of cover with top water plugs. Make many cast to the same spot and aggravate them into bitting.

Nate you can, where my cabin is they put up a summer dam and it backs up the water for a couple of miles so it's like a small lake.
