That was a nice ling that got you 1st place. Congrats! If I can persuade the little wifey that I really need more time on the water I will be there on sunday at the fort. Do you like to launch there as opposed to reef campground? What time are you thinking? Firstlight? I live in petaluma and thats about an hour and a half give or take.

First light-ish is best, not sure of the best place to launch/fish there, only went for abs in my pre-yak days.
Any ideas would be helpfull...

Fort ross is a piece of cake. Like $5 for parking. Next is Stillwater Cove. Not quite as easy as Ft Ross but at least it is free. You just have to park on the road at the top of the hill.
The Reef campground looks like a PITA. I have checked it out and since you still have to pay the $5 for day use you might as well go to the fort.

Launching at Reef is not that bad. I have done it many times. It is a little pain getting down the trail but its a good launch to fish either side of Pedottis reef or paddle up to the north point at the fort. If you launch at the fort and plan on paddling down around pedottis reef and the wind starts coming down from the north it could make for a long paddle home. If it turns out really flat with no wind a guy or gal could paddle all the way south to the red can. There is also some good diving at the can in about 20ft.The north point at the fort is good also go out about a half mile straight out from the point.Take the road less traveled.

Howdy GUys,
I would love to hook on Sunday and head out for some fish and abs. I will keep checking back to see where you launch from. Most likely I will head to Fort Ross since I just bought my yearly state park sticker( gotta get some use out if it)
