Late Tahoe report for 7/24 - 7/30

Our annual Summertime trek to Tahoe did not disappoint - that place is off the hook.  I like the 85 degree weather, emerald water, lazy afternoons at Bijou disc golfing, and the family get-together.

Fish-wise there wasn't much happening for me, as I only tried jigging a few times in the middle of the day for a total of a couple hours.  I did get some new intel on fishing spots though.  At Baldwin Beach (southwest lake area) I spotted a charter boat just offshore, so I paddled over and BS'd with them and GPS'd the spot.  They didn't hookup, but now I know there's potential there - a private fishing boat was there the next day, same spot.  Over at Sand Harbor a couple of days (northeast lake area) I jigged in a couple hundred feet of water.  While I was up there I read in the Chron about a charter boat captain that caught a 27 pound mack by Cave Rock and that it was one of the 5 largest in the modern era, with the 37 pound state record also caught at Tahoe back in the 70's or something.

Nope, FM, it's prime swimming time at Tahoe.  There were very very few patches of snow on the peaks around the lake.  We swim EVERY late July.
