Im goin up to clear lake in a few weeks and i dont know that area at all. What area do you guys think would be the best place to launch my yak. I know theres a lot of weeds this year and i want to find a place that doesnt have a huge paddle to get to a fishable spot. Thanks alot, PMs are good  too

Are you looking for weeds or to get away from them?  From what I have seen the two times I have been there this year is a very weedy north end (due to the shallow water) and a less weedy south end.  Weeds weren't too bad off the state park and gave you something to target if the fish were pulled off the bank.  The rattlesnake arm had just enough for the fish to use as cover.  Fishing was great at both locations when the wind was down.  There are pics of the Rodman Slough weed situation in the reports section from some time last month.  Looked like some great habitat, but when it is too thick the bass can be hard to pinpoint......

Ive spent some time on c-lake and conditions change quickly and often. Feel free to PM me right before you head up here for an accurate report on conditions and the bite. I can tell you that frogs are probably not the way to go if you are coming up hunting for a trophy bucketmouth but they still may take a few average fish and its fun fishing.
Let me know what kind of fishing you are interested in and I can point you to a good launch site.
Ive been witnessing alot of big cats roaming the shallows feeding on the young basslings that are unguarded after the males have left the nests. Cranking the shallows may bring in the big kitten. Word on the water is that the crappie are showing in the narrows area at the usual spots. Blooms are exploding all over the lake but temps are changing and so will the viz.
good luck
