270 days in the hole.....for snail bribery.

From the Fort Bragg Advocate:  A guy is busted for trying to bribe a warden in Mendo because he's got an over limit of snails........No, not abalone - turban snails.  He's OK on his abs, but knows he's over on his turban snails, so he tries to shove a 50 note in Gary Combes pocket.  Warden Combes is not what you would call a relaxed dude.

So, now it's a year later, and after being drug around in court, he's sentenced  to 270 days in the county slammer.

He actually thought he might bribe a Warden for 50 bucks?    Supposing a warden could actually be bought, like 50 bucks is 1930s scale.

I don't know Mr Combes,

but of the wardens I have met,

all I can say is the guy musta been an idiot, trying to bribe one!
