There was a lot of buzz on this and other sites last year about the new Abu Revo's particularly the Abu Revo Inshore.  I was looking around this weekend and came across a TackleTour.com review of a new larger Abu Revo called the Abu Revo Toro.   It comes in two sizes which are basically Revo Inshores with that are larger with much more line capacity.

Inshore, Toro 50, Toro 60

TackleTour also has a bunch of reviews from the recent ICAST show in Vegas.  Lots of cool stuff coming out.

The 50 looks like it going to be a hot item. Has the drag power, plenty of room for spectra, power handle, and a clicker if you need to get your troll on. The low profile reels on a trigger stick just feels so good in my little troll hands..... :smt007

You're welcome Terry.  Not sure when it actually hits the stores though.  There is at least on place online that you can pre-order for $269-$279 depending on the model, but they don't give a release date.

Oh.. I didn't mention this before, but they come in two speeds.  Regular 5.4:1 and HS 6.4:1.

just like the $50 black max version of the revo is probably best for kayak fishing as it has fewer ball bearings to corrode and seize up, hopefully they will come out with a smaller number of ball-bearings version of the toro too.

I agree with you John, but the marketing people will find that a tough pill to swallow.  "The more bearings, the better", is one of the major marketing hypes for reels these days...

I'll put my money on a 12 ball bearing version before a three ball bearing version...

That's reason #1  :smt044....
Reason #2:  I like fishing live bait with in free-spool with the clicker on.
Reason #3:  When I land a fish, I like to put the rod back in the holder with the reel in free-spool and clicker on so I can easily get the slack I need to work on the fish without fear of birdnesting.  It's easier than backing off the drag.

Good think I no longer have WAF to contend with.  I think I know what my next "feel better about myself purchase" may be :smt044

That's one of the things I like about you Jim...  I find and drool over some new fishing gear, show you and you go out and buy it. One of these days I'm going to have some fun with this fact.

yes, the 12 ball bearing version comes out first for $200-$300, but then 18 months later a $50-$70 dollar version with 4 bearings comes out.

seems to be the case with the black max and the STX in the standard revo line for instance.
