Made a last minute decision to run up the coast after looking at the NOAA and 3' swells no wind at 11am. With a building swell, I decided to drop everything and load up and haul on up there. Got on the water by 2pm and the wind was starting to blow a little straight form the west on shore, but hardly any swell to speak of. It picked up enough to spoil the drift a few hours later. Fishing was slow. Had really work for your fish. I got one nice ling about 30" and lost two others that unbuttoned on the way up. Biggest gopher I've ever gotten. (probably the first one I've kept) and a few blues. Even the blues were harder than usual to get a decent sized one. Got off the water around 8, filleted fish and washed the gear and heading home by 9. In my rush, I left the camera at home, so no pics, but got a few dinners... :smt003 I don't know what's going on in the ocean, but this has been a tough!! year...

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

Yeah, it has.  But I think it's a good thing.  There's been so much production and therefore bait that the fish are stuffed.  All the fish I've been catching have been stuffed with baby rockfish or some other type of bait.
