Staying at a beach house at Soquel Point for the week 7/25-31.  I want to fish Saturday the 26th and another day out there for flatties and the other white meat fish out there (ie. not rockfish or lings).  I'll probably launch from the beach and either make bait around there or if that doesn't pan out paddle down to the pier make or buy bait then head back out to Soquel probably fishing along the way.  Looking to hook up with anyone who'd like to fish for halibut.

Been rumors of a few wsb near there as well. I will be launching from Capitola if I do not make the drive to Big Sur.

Sweet, My names Joe, I'll be in a blue marauder paddling down towards the pier from Soquel point to get bait and flyline a little before heading back up to drift for the flatties.  Seems like theres a lot of fish around, as always no guarantees but theres a good chance for quality.  I'll probably launch at daybreak and paddle down there.

Wish I could get out there with you, right now I'm settling for getting a kitchen sink and running water, etc., etc..  Maybe in a week.  It's been very (low) foggy in the morning, but fantastic weather in the afternoons for about 2 weeks.  Wind comes up about 10:30- 11.
In case you don't know, the Wharf (SC) to Wharf (Cap) race is on for Sunday early - festivities continue in Capitola for a while afterwards.   I also saw a sign about a bike race that day up in the SC mountains, which probably won't affect you if you don't try to take any back roads over from San Jose.  Good luck!

Brian,
That would be sweet if you can make it but I'm going on Saturday, not Sunday, we've have a couple of friends staying with us on Sunday so I can't do it that day.  If you can do it midweek let me know as well, I can do Monday - Wednesday.  I'm leaving on Thursday to get ready for Elk.  Plan to be there early am on Friday.  Anyways I'll report on Saturday when I come in.  I might even do some shore fishing tonight.  Seems like there might be a chance at something.
Joe
