Late report of a loveless Saturday at Paradise.

Otobepalagic, Repoman & Rory got started at a reasonable time & I met up with them, late as usual.  :smt012
There was at least one destroyed chovy-sicle amongst the crew but no hook-ups.
Boats were all around & some were doing fairly well - one had 4 keeper hali's on board by about 10am.

I had one live (barely) shiner held over from the previous day. Otherwise, it was popsicles for the kayak crew.
The ticket that day seemed to be LIVE anchovies, although I still think there's a considerable element of luck in just getting any bait in front of their faces.  :smt106

Anyway, it was a beautiful morning on the bay but the only action we had was a lot of radio chatter from the abundance of yacht races, presumably part of the Festival of Sails. Otobe- opted to race non-spinnaker, in the turbo-pedal class.  :smt080

Oh yea, I did actually catch something:  a nasty ol' soaked t-shirt that someone apparently donated to the bay...
Better yet, on the way in, a friendly group of citizens on a sailboat offered me ice cream with cookies & chocolate syrup. Thoroughly baked from the sun, how could I resist? I didn't think people in Marin gave away anything for free - turns out it was a non-profit group out of Berkeley! Nice way to end a fishless day.  :smt004

Pisciform - Good on you that you put in the effort and no doubt had a good time doin it!
Marin sure has that rep, and more & more it deserves it, but, trust me, it's mostly made up of workin people like anywhere else. There are just more Escalades per capita than anywhere else in the world!
I'm hopin' to get after those Paradise hallies too but other stuff keeps getten in the way.

               Good Luck, Tom

Thanks for the report. I've never had any butt-luck with the frozen bait or artificials. However, i know plenty of people that have. Better luck next time.

Uhhh Aaron..........did the t-shirt have a NCKA logo on it? I was baking out there so as I was removing one layer of clothing while trying to protect my fishing license when the sleeve hit the water and before I could circle   back it was out of site. It's one thing to litter on the water but to do it with my coveted shirt  :smt010.
The weather was beautiful but the fishing was a bit frustrating........boats to the right and left of us hooking up and landing flatties but none for us. The halibut were on a strict diet of live bait and didn't even sniff our Popsicles.         Another beautiful day on the water.

I heard you telling Rory you lost your shirt so I threw that bit in for your benefit! Unfortunately, I didn't really find it.  :smt009

Yup, had a great time. Anybody that goes out there tho, better watch out for the  :smt013 @^&*#%^@% :smt013 on the bicycles. They tend to want to go down the middle of the road and beyond!!! Long story. It was hot and next time we will have live bait. Aaron, was it the big sail boat that had you come over for the ice cream? That looked like it was the "PARTY" boat. Hope to meet up with all again.  :smt006

IceCream at the end of a hot day spent hunting, doesn't sound that bad.Getting skunked while others are hooking em' left&right?  is down right CRUEL&Punishing.
I would have been right there with you guys...if my wife hadn't of told me NO.
Thanks for the report!!  it's a matter of dropping that offering in front of their one "Good Eye" they have! :smt002...andTHENitMUSTopenIT'SmouthTOO. :smt010

Yep, it was the big one moored just north of the pier, blue & white, I think. I can't remember the name of the boat & didn't have any luck finding it on the web. They said it's a non-profit that takes kids out on the bay, bu they weren't "working" on Saturday.

By the way, wasn't serious about the Marin folks being greedy - just playin' on the stereotypes!  :smt002

Otobe- sorry about your shirt - I didn't know it was an NCKA shirt; that really sucks! Wish I actually did catch it.
