Big River 7/26/08

I spent all day out in front of Mendocino (town) for almost nada.  I could barely make the rockcod bite never mind the lings.  I tried everything and also lost a lot of gear on the bottom.  I hate that.  My stringer was not worth the pixels for a pic.

On the way back in, a surfing friend of mine tells me he caught a 30 lb ling at Van Damme in 15 FOW the day before.  Are the lings in shallow?  I thought someone else posted about that.
